Airlite, when compared  to straw and shavings, out performs when absorbing Ammonia and keeping it out of the breathing zone over time.  This study was conducted by the University of Delaware in conjunction with the University of Florida.  More evidence based research that shows that Airlite is the Healthiest Bedding for any animal large or small.

The Journal of Equine Veterinary Science recommends using un-used, recycled cardboard for bedding for prevention and treatment of animals with COPD or other breathing problems, allergies or other non-infectious respiratory diseases.*  While most studies to date regarding dust exposure have been conducted on humans, the effect on animals, particular smaller species, is likely to be even more pronounced especially as they are in close continual contact with their bedding.  As humans, we have a relatively poor sense of smell compared with other animals, therefore a nasal or respiratory irritant is much more likely to harm many animals which rely on smell for locating food and identifying and interacting with other animals.

The Canadian Equine Research Council research reports reveal that Chopped cardboard bedding is found to be 5 times more absorbent than wood shavings, 6 times more absorbent than straw bedding and 2 times more absorbent than hemp bedding.

The benefits of using Airlite animal bedding are many.  Airlite has natural insulation which helps keep animal warm during colder months.  It is made from Un-used material so it has no food contamination or cross contamination from oils and chemicals and hence can be safely used for all animals, even newborns, giving them the healthiest start in life.  The high absorbancy factor in Airlite bedding helps liquid waste flow quickly down to the floor level where the bottom layers start absorbing immediately.  This leaves the surface layer absolutely dry.  Airlite is odorless and can remarkably reduce the amount of ammonia which can build up in stalls, barns or in any confined area.
